Keep it cool
As the summer hits the Capital, Delhi Crafts Council has brought in some signs of relief to the people in the form of its upcoming annual summer textile exhibition titled Kairi.
The exhibition will display a collection of handloom sarees and fabrics created by twenty craftsmen and clusters from all over the country ranging from Ajrakh, Kamlamkari, Ikat, Kota, Chanderi, Leheriya and Maheshwari as well as Kasuti.
Along with these, there are some tribal textiles from Bastar. The show will also feature samples of tie-die textiles as well as have a live demonstration of this traditional technique.
The annual exhibition aims at promoting the artisans craftsmanship and offering them a platform to market their products.
