JSW July crude steel output up 47%

JSW Steel on Monday reported an almost 47 per cent rise in crude steel production to 9.91 lakh tonnes in July, over the corresponding month of last year. The company’s crude steel production in July, 2012 was at 6.76
lakh tonnes, JSW Steel said in a statement.

‘JSW Steel Ltd reports monthly crude steel production of 9.91 lakh tonnes showing a growth of 47 per cent in July FY13 at its three manufacturing locations, Vijayanagar, Salem and Dolvi, all together,’ it said.

The capacity utilisation was lower at Vijayanagar works due to shutdown of one of its corex furnaces for relining and capacity enhancement and the same is expected to recommence production by September-end, the company said.
