Jilted lover shoots at girl friend’s father

A jilted lover shot at the father of his former girl friend after she got married to someone else, police said.  

The incident occurred at Ghosh Para area of Jalangi in Murshidabad on Sunday night. Police said the accused, Tinku Seikh, a resident of Farazipara area, stormed into the house of his former girl friend and shot at her father Motiur Rahaman from the close range. 

Rahaman has been undergoing treatment at Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. He had sustained a bullet injury on his leg. 

The accused had fled after the incident. The police are conducting search operation for Tinku. Police said the accused had a relationship with the girl for last two years. Few days ago the girl got married to another person who had infuriated Tinku. 

He was trying to take a revenge on the family and thus hatched a plan. He acted accordingly and stormed into the house of the girl. He had engaged in a quarrel with the girl. 

When the girl’s father tried to intervene the accused took out a gun and shot at him from point bland. The victim fell on the ground on a pool of blood. He received the bullet injury on his leg.
