Jet Airways in code share pact with South African carrier

Private carrier Jet Airways on Tuesday said it has entered into a code share arrangement with South African Airways to offer seamless travel to South Africa-bound passengers.

The code share agreement comes into effect from 18 April, a Jet Airways release said here.

Code-sharing allows an airline to book its passengers on its partner carriers and provide seamless transport to multiple destinations where it has no presence.

Under the arrangement, Jet Airways will code share on South African Airways' flights between Mumbai and Johannesburg and beyond to Cape Town and Durban, the release said. Similarly, South African Airways will code share on Jet Airways' operations between Mumbai and Delhi and beyond to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram, it said.
