Jawan arrested for molesting woman in train

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mughal Sarai on Saturday arrested a jawan on charges of molesting a woman inside the Howrah-Delhi Rajdhani Express.

The accused who has been identified as Dilber Singh, said to be an army jawan was travelling along the victim in B3 coach of Delhi bound Rajdhani Express. Though, it is yet to be confirmed if the accused is an army jawan. The victim told the police that Dilber who was travelling with her in the same coach behaved in an unusual manner after the train left the Howrah station.

When the train was about the reach Gaya the accused in an inebriated state touched her. Somehow she fled from his clutches and reported the matter to a ticket checker who in turn informed the matter to the GRP.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the woman the police have arrested the accused. Earlier on December 28, an army jawan forced a minor girl to consume alcohol while she was allegedly gang raped by two paramilitary force personnel inside a compartment, reserved for security personnel, of the Howrah-Amritsar Express.
