Honour killing in UP: Brother kills minor sister, paramour

A minor girl and her paramour were murdered allegedly by her 19-year-old brother here in an apparent case of honour killing, police said on Wednesday.

Sonu, a minor girl hailing from Risalu village falling under <g data-gr-id="33">Chhatari</g> Police station here, was having an affair with her married neighbour Tarun (24), Superintendent of Police (City) Pankaj Pandey said.

The couple went absconding for a few days. Upon their return, girl's elder brother Atul attacked the couple with a spade killing the minor on the spot, police said.

Meanwhile, the girl's paramour succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to <g data-gr-id="27">hospital</g>, Superintendent of Police (SP, Rural) said. The accused surrendered before police and admitted of committing the murders. He has been sent to jail, the SP (Rural) said.
