Honey-trap for IPL cricketers?

Delhi Police Crime Branch has claimed to have arrested a Vimal Marwaha, near East Delhi’s Mansarovar Park. Marwaha allegedly runs a drug and prostitution racket.

The arrest of Vimal Marwaha, the Crime Branch sources revealed to Millennium Post, was due to a tip off given by the International Cricket Council (ICC)-Anti Corruption Unit.

Earlier, the Crime Branch claimed that Marwaha was trapped by a team of their officers on an anonymous tip-off near Mansarovar Park area. She was called there by the officers pretending to be customers.

But now, sources revealed to Millennium Post, about a month ago, a list was provided by ICC-Anti Corruption Unit. The list included the identity of call girls with their contact numbers and few website links as well as Vimal Marwaha. The information given by ICC-Anti Corruption Unit revealed that these call girls lured cricketers, who were later approached to fix matches.

The call girls also do stage shows in India and other countries, specially during cricket matches. It is also being alleged by the sources that few of the IPL matches were fixed by these call girls.

It is said that Marwaha could have been in control of a few of these call girls and used them as honey-traps. Delhi Police Crime Branch is further investigating.

Marwaha was arrested when she began the transaction with the officers posing as clients. The 50-year-old Marwaha, a resident of Old Rajendra Nagar in Delhi, apart from supplying cocaine and call girls, is supposedly a match-fixer as well. During interrogation, Marwaha informed that she was scheduled to fly to Colombo, Sri Lanka, with eight girls. According to her, she was going there to organise a party in a casino. But crime branch sources revealed that she was in contact with a bookie to fix a match for India. For which, she was flying to Sri Lanka.

She was arrested with 275 gm of cocaine, along with seven passports and tickets issued by Sri Lankan Airlines. Along with Marwaha, two males, who were identified as Arun Gupta and Ajay Kalra were also arrested.
