Gurgaon gets a style-up style with opening of Vivanta by Taj

Started over 110 years ago by Jamsetji Tata, the Taj Group opened its 100th Hotel in India – Vivanta by Taj in Gurgaon. The current portfolio of the Taj Group includes the luxury properties, upper-upscale Vivantas, mid-market Gateway Hotels and the economy Ginger Hotels. The Group currently has over 14,250 rooms in its fold.

‘The Taj Group, India’s largest hospitality group has 120 hotels globally which is expected to grow to over 200 properties in the next five years, ‘ said Raymond N Bickson, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Indian Hotels Company Ltd.

The gleaming Vivanta by Taj - Gurgaon evokes a true sensorial experience and is synonymous with modern India. A triple height lobby welcomes the guests to the 208-room hotel which has two blocks joined by glass-enclosed suspended walkways.

The Singapore- based architecture firm, Warner Wong Design is responsible for the distinct design and architecture of the Hotel while a Thai interior firm is responsible for the sophisticated design elements at Vivanta by Taj. One gets a feel of Indo-Islamic architecture through the gradual unveiling of the experientially rich spaces inspired by the jaali. All the rooms with top- of- the line interiors come fully equipped with video conferencing facilities.

The Hotel offers the host of dining options. Latitude, the all-day diner, offers both traditional and international cuisine to suit all palates.

A Yellow Line Metro Menu at Latitude pays tribute to Delhi’s legendary street food to be enjoyed from Huda Chowk to Chandni Chowk. Sita Ram Bazaar ke Dahi Bhalae Papri Chat, Kala Khatta Chuski and M.G. Road’s Mutton Keema aur Tawa Paratha are must haves.

To keep the local cuisine alive, Latitude offers authentic Haryanvi cuisine. Bajra Khichidi and Mutton cooked in desi ghee are absolute delights. Thai Pavilion-the iconic signature Thai cuisine restaurant is opening soon. Tease, the stylish bar surely lifts the spirits. A great experience is to savour the six ‘cocktailed’ odes to the Millennium City of Gurgaon created by master mixologist, Atilla at Tease.

The Jiva Spa guarantees revitalization of the mind, body and senses. The special jet lag alleviation experience-Jagr is a must try.

Vivanta also provides signature experiences rooted in local destinations cues. Currently, Vivanta has 26 hotels and resorts in India and the Indian Ocean region.

The brand is looking aggressively at properties in eastern India and has recruited over 800 persons from the north-east last year.

The next Vivanta by Taj property is expected to open up at Dwarka in Delhi soon.
