Goldie Hawn has another side to her: Kate Hudson

Actor Kate Hudson says her mother Goldie Hawn was strict with her children growing up, as well as being the warm “spirit” people see.

The 37-year-old beauty has opened up about her relationship with the Overboard star, 70, and insisted the actor was a ‘strong presence’ in her life, reported People magazine.

“I think people get an idea of her spirit and she’s just this wonderful person and she’s a light and she’s a great mom. She’s a very strong presence and she was strict at times. She wasn’t always like what her Instagram shows. There’s another side to mom,” said the Something Borrowed actor.

The Almost Famous star added that her mother and step father Kurt Russell’s parenting style was to ensure their kids - including Oliver Hudson, 39, and Wyatt Russell, 29 - were always “happy” and weren’t pressured by their parents’ success. “What makes mom the best is that she never put any expectations too high on the kids. She just wanted us to be doing the things that made us happy, as long as we were working hard, but we never had to live up to something.” Kate added.
