Girl wasn’t sure to treat it as sexual assault case: Thampu
Amid allegations of trying to hush up a molestation row in St Stephen's College, its principal Valson Thampu on Saturday said it was not for <g data-gr-id="16">him</g> but the victim to go to <g data-gr-id="15">police</g>. He claimed that "the girl wasn't sure she wanted to treat it as a sexual harassment complaint". "It wasn't for me but for the victim to approach the police over the issue. I could have raised it with the college's Internal Complaints Committee, which I duly did," he said."Life is not above <g data-gr-id="14">law</g>. The girl wasn't sure she wanted to treat it as a sexual harassment complaint. If I would have reported it to police, it would have been <g data-gr-id="12">breach</g> of trust," he added.
