Ggn Dy Commissioner writes to Virk, asks why cops go easy on cases involving developers

Questioning the inaction by Gurgaon police, the Deputy Commissioner T L Satyaprakash has written a letter to Police Commissioner Navdeep Virk and has expressed “disappointment” regarding cases involving developers.

The DC in his letter has said the “commissioner could have done a better job” in handling these efficiently.

“The impunity with which some of the real estate agencies are cheating people is deplorable. Nevertheless, the way police are taking up such cases and closes is still more deplorable,” read the letter.

“Having said that I am of the opinion that as head of the police in Gurgaon, you should make an earnest effort to make things more predictable, I would like to express my disappointment that you should have done far better in case of Era-Adelwork and Unitech Residences case,” the letter further added.

In the letter, written in connection with alleged fraud by Emaar-MGF developers through grave violations in the licensed colonies being developed by them, the DC has questioned the way in which cheating cases against MGF-Emaar were taken up and closed.

He further stated that the government of Haryana has created various platforms wherein the public can report regarding their grievances and recently Allottee Grievance Redressal Forum had also been constituted wherein grievances and complaints against the developers are to be heard. “During the first meeting of the said forum, many complaints have been received against Emaar MGF in Sector 65 and 66, Gurgaon,” the letter read.

Satyaprakash has further said: “It is pertinent to point out that even the police department is aware of such frauds made by the developers.”

Satyaprakash has concluded the letter by adding: “It becomes all the more imperative and justified if an FIR is lodged against the main holding company i.e MGF Emaar urgently so that… the company does not cheat any more flat buyers.”
