German national found dead in hotel room

A 72-year-old German national was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a five-star hotel room located at south-east Delhi’s Nehru Place area on Friday. Police have claimed that it was a natural death. Further investigations on the death of the German businessman are already underway.

The victim has been identified as Edverse. He arrived in India on Tuesday on a business trip. He checked into Eros hotel, located opposite Nehru Place metro station.  A senior police official told Millennium Post, ‘The victim was involved in an import/export business in leather. For the same he would make frequent trips to India. On Tuesday he landed at Indira Gandhi airport with his business partner, who was residing at another hotel.’

While interrogating his business partner and hotel staff, it came light that Edverse was a heart patient and under medication for the same. ‘On Thursday night he ordered continental food along with some beer for dinner.

'The next morning he neither came out of his room nor picked up numerous phone calls, despite several attempts made by hotel staff. The hotel staff  broke into his room and found him lying unconscious on the bed. Blood was found coming out of his mouth,’ the PR official from the hotel said.

A call was made to the police control room and a team rushed him to AIIMS, where he was declared dead on arrival. Preliminary investigation suggests that it was a natural death and he might have suffered from a cardiac arrest. ‘Meanwhile, his body has been sent for the post mortem examination and German Embassy has been informed about his death,’ the official added.
