Front portion of Central Park to get facelift

The front portion of the Central Park will be given a facelift. The engineers of Urban Development department have made a detailed project report on the park’s upgradation. The estimated cost is being worked out and after that, tenders will be floated.

Senior engineers of the department visited the park and conducted a survey recently. The ground houses various types of fair and is extensively used in winter. Currently Sabala Mela is going on in the ground. It was preceded by the CII’s Travel and Tourism fair. More programmes are set to start like Saras mela, Bidhannagar mela, Rathayatra and Rabindra Jayanti.

For many years, the upgradation of the fair-ground was seriously needed. As stalls are set up in the fairs, proper planning is required as the turnout of people is quite heavy. Also, parking of vehicles of the visitors poses a serious problem which will be sorted out. A planning will be made so that the visitors can enjoy their stay in the ground.
