Fresh legal trouble for Shah Rukh Khan

Already buffeted by controversies, Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan on Tuesday found himself in fresh legal trouble as he got summons issued by a court in Rajasthan to appear before it on 26 May in a case related to smoking cigarettes in public  at a stadium in Jaipur during an IPL match.

Khan, co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, had been directed by a local court in Jaipur to appear before it on 26 May after he was seen smoking at the stadium.

The court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Shilpa Sameer summoned the actor. In his complaint, Anand Singh, who runs the Jaipur Cricket Academy, had sought action against Khan under section 5/11 of Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking Act, 2000, which prohibits smoking at a public place. 'Two cops from Rajasthan police department came. A policeman from our police station came with the Rajasthan cop to the residence of the actor where the summons were given,' an officer said.
