Five people injured in wall collapse in Kidderpore

The injured were rushed to the SSKM Hospital where three were discharged after first-aid while two were admitted in a critical condition. The police detained two employees of the construction company.

According to the police, the portion of the parapet wall  of an under construction building on Brownfield Road in Kidderpore  collapsed and fell on the injured persons. Local people rushed them to SSKM hospital where two   were admitted in a critical condition.

A  team of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will visit the building on Tuesday to see whether there were any irregularity in construction. Senior civic officials said as the plans were submitted online it was easy to spot any deviation from the sanctioned plan. 

Police said action would be taken against the owner if they found irregularities during the investigation.
