Fire breaks out at Rash Behari Avenue

A fire broke out at an office situated on the first floor of a four-storey building at Rash Behari Avenue here on Wednesday morning.

Sources said six fire tenders were pressed into service and they took around four hours to douse the flames.

The local residents informed the fire department when they spotted smoke billowing out of the office window.

When the fire fighters reached the spot, they found that the fire had started spreading on the second floor of the building.

However, there was no casualty reported as no one was present on both the floors when the incident took place.

Due to safety reason, the fire fighters brought out all residents from the top floor of the same building.

Initially, four fire tenders were pressed into service. Later, two more fire tenders joined them when the situation was going out of control.

A team comprising officers of the disaster management group was deployed in the area to help the fire fighters.
