Fingerprint expert questioned in Aarushi case

The fingerprint expert and photographer of Noida police, Chunnilal, was cross examined in the special CBI court of Ghaziabad on Thursday. He is the third witness being cross-examined in the court.

During the cross examination, the counsel of CBI presented the 230 photographs that he had clicked from the site of crime and related places. ‘His statements is not so important as his work is clear in photographs and reports of the fingerprints, which we submitted to the court,’ said R K Saini, CBI advocate in the case. The advocates of Nupur Talwar demanded all the photographs, reports of the fingerprints in original and the statements recorded by Noida police on July 2008 and in 2010. The court was adjourned for next hearing on 25 June. The court had so far cross-examined two witnesses in the case.

Nupur Talwar is presently lodged in Dasna jail of Ghaziabad while her husband Rajesh Talwar is out on bail. The couple are facing trail in the court of Additional Sessions Judge (ADJ-CBI) of Ghaziabad, S Lal, in the double murder case of their teenaged daughter Aarushi. Nupur, who still claims innocence, appealed to Supreme Court for her bail, but her appeal was declined.

Aarushi Talwar [14] was murdered in her flat in Sector 21 of Noida and her body was discovered on 16 May 2008, early in the morning. The body of her domestic help Hemraj [45] was discovered from the terrace of the house the next day.
