World sacred spirit festival to make a stunning return

The prestigious sites of the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur open their doors to an extraordinary sacred and historical musical journey. For the 11th year in a row, the Mehrangarh Museum Trust will enchant the music aficionados of India with World Sacred Spirit Festival (WSSF) from February 15 to 18. Known to present the most beautiful of sacred traditions from the Orient, the East, and Africa, WSSF will take a step further in enchanting its guests with an impressive line-up of artists in a stunning royal setting.
"This year we enter a new decade of organising WSSF. The festival, which started as a celebration to mark the UNESCO World Heritage Award for conservation at the Ahhichatragarh Fort of Nagaur, today has become one of the most coveted music festivals in the world. Over the years, we have noticed the change in demographics with an influx of music travelers from across the globe traveling to Jodhpur to attend this festival. With our efforts to conserve and take forward the sacred traditions of India and the World, we are ecstatic with the response we have received from our festival attendees," said Maharaja Gajsingh II of Marwar-Jodhpur.
To commemorate this year's edition of the World Sacred Spirit Festival, the Mehrangarh Museum Trust is organizing a candlelight story tale of Pabuji Phad. In the backdrop of the picturesque Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park – the legend of Pabuji would be retold to the audience via 52 panwaras (poetic compositions).
Some of the star attractions to set enchant the audience are Ariana Vafadari with Haroun Teboul on the ney, Madan Gopal Singh, Irfan Tufail, Haroun Teboul on the ney and tambur, Haïg Sarikouyoumdjian Duduk Ensemble, Langas and Manganiyar Children With Nawab Khan, Arshad Ali Khan and Ojas Adhiya and Milind Tulankar.
