Tribute to Tagore on his birth anniversary

An evening of songs and poems highlighting different moods and moments of Tagore's life, marked the birth anniversary celebrations of this philosopher-poet at Muktadhara auditorium here.
The cultural programme, organised by West Bengal Information and Cultural Centre, New Delhi, under the Office of
the Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal, payed a tribute to Kabiguru.
City-based choir Swarchhanda's presentation titled 'Tagore meets Bhanu Singha' focussed on the versatility of the writer. Renowned singer Sahana Bakshi and her mentor Soumi Bhattacharya also paid a glorious tribute to the rich poetic tradition of Bengal through their programme 'Kabipronam'. Following that, noted Rabindrasangeet artiste Debadrito Chattopadhyay earned plaudits from the audience for his rendition of some of the bard's best creations.
The event was graced by the presence of Bhaskar Khulbe, Secretary to the Prime Minister, Jayashree Mukherjee, Additional Secretary, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Dr Krishna Gupta, Principal Resident Commissioner, Government of West Bengal.
