Tihar inmates to design costumes for 'Marksheet'

On the World Sparrow Day, Delhi Prison, Tihar, gave new wings of creativity and hope to its female inmates of Jail No. 6; as for the first
time they are going to design costumes under the supervision of an established designer.
The clothes will be designed for an upcoming movie titled Marksheet, thereby making it the first film with a cast that will be dressed up by the female inmates of Tihar Jail.
The entire team of the film, who visited Tihar recently was appreciated for this move to support such a social cause.
On this occasion, speaking to media Ajay Kashyap, D.G (P) stated: "We got a request from makers of Marksheet and we readily agreed because it will showcase the talent of inmates, give them recognition and inspire others, which eventually serves the purpose of our reform initiatives."
Raj Kumar, AIG(P), S.S. Parihar, DIG(P) and Simray A. Bailorose, Superintendent Jail No.6 (female jail) agreed that the satisfaction of doing some creative things
together and giving them the feeling of being in the mainstream is the idea behind this move.
"Asia's biggest jails inmates yet again proved that creativity remains unconfined. You can't do anything but utter the words of appreciation when you come across the wonderful designs that have been showcased in the hall named as 'Fashion Lab', inside the jail", stated actor Imran Zahid, who was also present along with the film crew.
The team of Marksheet visited Tihar Fashion Lab along with designer Winky Singh. The shoot of this film will start by the month of July and will be ready for release by the end of 2018. Association of Tihar will remain with this film beyond designing costumes as well.
Marksheet is being produced by Moonlight Theatres and Yellowstone together. The film is co-written by Dinesh Gautam and will be directed by Harish Vyas.
Imran Zahid, Kulnoor Brar and Satyakam Anand (Gangs of Wasseypur fame) are in the lead role.
