The untold story of Anjan Dutt
Kolkata will be hosting a concert of Anjan Dutt where he will walk us through his music and reveal untold stories of his life
'Chena Gaan Ajana Anjan', a concert by one of the legendary musicians of our times Anjan Dutt, explores the 'known' journey of the song writer traversing through the 'unknown' alleys of untold stories.
This concert with Anjan Dutt is happening for the first time, where he will walk us through his music, the backdrop of his lyrics and the inner reasons that transformed him from the illustrious actor to the ever-loved song-writer and singer.
As they say, the illusion stays...and the magic of the 'untold and unknown Anjan' continues. "I will be revealing several phases of my life's journey, aspects of my youth and childhood, the city Kolkata, how I became a quintessential Bengali and so on", Dutt told Millennium Post.
Dutt will also be talking about his relationship with other musicians like Kabir Suman. "My music is much more emotional than his. 'Ranjana' is a love song but the social message is interwoven in the lyrics. Suman's music has a stronger and more direct social message," Dutt explains.
The show organiser Carpe Diem is a new Art Entrepreneurship started out of passion by Somnath Dasgupta and Samarpita Chanda, trying to organise events which are unique with a social commitment. "We always believed that Performing Arts is not for sheer entertainment but also plays a pivotal role in Community Development", they say. 'Chena Gaan Ajana Anjan' is one such initiative of Carpe Diem which has been passionately dreamt of. "A legend like Anjan Dutt which will surely create magic in the City of Joy. This concert has the purpose of 'Community Development and aims at raising funds and support Girijyoti Vidyalaya in Siliguri – a school for the underprivileged children who do not have a school building to study", said Dasgupta.
