Sonar Pahar Quiz contest: Strengthening family bonds

The excitement was palpable at the Sonar Pahar Quiz Contest as six elderly couples were thoroughly quizzed by some brainy heads; the interesting part being that they all were toddlers. Team Sonar Pahar, including actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Master Shrijato Banerjee aka Bitlu of Sonar Pahar were the mastermind behind the contest, which was organised by GreenTouch Entertainment in association with Lake Club.

The evening witnessed a funny yet intelligent game where Shrijato along with six children from Anandaghar, an NGO catering to the orphan HIV positive children in need of care and protection, and moderator Kunal quizzed six elderly couples. There were different rounds to this game and the participants were asked questions from various genres like culture, science, literature, sports, and society. The last two rounds were rather interesting as they were based on Tanuja and Soumitra Chattopadhyay. The winning team received a trophy while other participants were given consolation prizes.

"Sonar Pahar is really close to my heart. The movie highlights the fading shades of an elderly person's life and how a strong bond is built between a kid and an aged person. Through today's quiz, we wanted to strengthen that bond between the child and his family. In today's era of the rat race, kids should spend more time with their family especially the grandparents who have the ability to nurture and shape their mind in the right way. It seems that all the participants are really happy to be a part of the quiz. And so we are", said Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Director, and Actor, Sonar Pahar.

Sonar Pahar is all set to hit the screens across West Bengal on July 6. All eyes should be on screen to experience the unparalleled chemistry between Shrijato and Tanuja. Sonar Pahar also brings one of the most loved on-screen pair of Tanuja and Soumitra Chattopadhyay after almost 30 years.
