Introducing Delhiites to Bangla cinema

Bengal Association has effectively been able to connect Bengalis of Delhi and NCR through social and cultural activities. To further make Delhites familiar with the present day Bangla language and culture through latest Bangla Cinema, the association is organising 11th Bangla Cine Utsab - 2018 from August 10 – 12, 2018 at Muktadhara Auditorium.

National Award winner and renowned Bangla actor Rituparna Sengupta has consented to inaugurate the festival on August 10 at 6 pm. The three-day festival will showcase ten latest full-length feature films and ten short films by renowned directors as well as new rising Bangla directors and producers.

Popular names like Rituparna Sengupta, Mamata Shankar, Srliekha Mitra, Sudeshna Roy, Gargi Roychoudhury, Rahul Banerjee, lndrashish Acharya, Abir Chatterjee and others will also be participating in the event.

Latest Bangla films like Mayurakkhi, Pupa, Bhalobasar Bari, Naomi, Rainbow Jelly, Benche Thakar Gaan, Babar Naam Gandhiji, Ahare Mone, Meghnath Badh Rahasya, Machher Jhol will be screened during the festival. The concluding ceremony on August 12, at 4 pm will be starred by Abir Chatterjee along with Mamata Shankar, Gargi Roychoudhuri, Sudesna Roy, and others.

Speaking about the event, Tapan Sengupta, General Secretary, Bengal Association said that all the guests have confirmed their participation. The members of the Association, young and old alike are working very hard to make the Cine Utsab successful.

Dr Tushar Roy, Festival Chairman, and Festival Convenor Sajal Mitra, overseeing the arrangements expressed satisfaction about the progress, Dr Amitava Mukherjee, President, Bengal Association expressed confidence about the arrangements and success of the Cine Utsab.
