Bringing young talent and legends under one roof

Keeping in mind the necessity to bring common masses closer to the Indian traditions and culture, a national festival of dance and music – 'Parampara series' is organised every year. This year, the three day event will be held from August 10 – 12, 7 pm – 10 pm, at Kamani Auditorium.

Organised under the aegis of Natya Tarangini, Dr Raja Radha Reddy and Dr Kaushalya Reddy, the event has been successfully bringing art from across country to mesmerize the audience. Under this series, Natya Tarangini has presented various stalwarts but the endeavour is not restricted to bridging the gap between legendary artists and audience but also to give platform to the young talents who are trying to make their foothold in the world of art and culture.

For over two decades thousands of people have witnessed magnificent art of nearly a hundred legendary artists including Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Dr Balamuralikrishna, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Birju Maharaj, Kelucharan Mahopatra, Vyjayanthimala Bali, Kishori Amonkar, Mrinalini Sarabai, Astad Deboo, Shubha Mudgal and others.

This year, the 22nd edition of the festival will represent some of the most successful dance productions of recent times, in addition to the musical concerts by legendary artists. As has been the tradition, the audience of Parampara Series will witness two concerts every evening.

Living up to the reputation of the institute, Natya Tarangini commenced yet another series of their annual festival – 'Maha Shivaratri' since past two years, with an objective to bring all the artists under one roof to worship Lord Shiva through music and dance. This festival promotes and gives a platform to the young and upcoming exponents of music and dance and has featured artists like Ashwini Bhide, Dr. K. Vageesh, Malini Awasthi, O.S. Arun, Rajendra Gangani, Gundecha Brothers, Bhavana Reddy to name a few.

Natya Tarangini also promotes other art forms through its art gallery 'Nandjeet Khemka Art Gallery' wherein the paintings/sculpture of various artists are displayed. Apart from this, Natya Tarangini is actively involved in conducting education workshops and seminars.
