Bratyajon's 7th International Theatre Festival off to a flying start

The much-awaited curtain raiser ceremony of the 7th International Theatre Festival, organized by Kalindi Bratyajon, took place at Oxford Book Store, Park Street on May 28.
The brochure of the festival was officially released in presence of the Consul General of Russia Alexey M. Idamkin, Acting Consul General of Italy Vincenza Bufalo, Italian theatre director Simona Di Maio and the festival Convener, thespian Bratya Basu.
There are four foreign theatre troupes participating in the prestigious festival this year – Italy, Russia, Egypt, and Tunisia.
The festival will be inaugurated on May 29 by the Minister of Power, West Bengal Sri Sovandeb Chattopadhyay in the august presence of the Regional Director of ICCR, Kolkata, Goutam De.
The team from Italy will present two non-verbal performances, two sketch and skotch at Academy of Fine Arts on the inaugural day. Theatre lovers of Bengal will get a taste of global theatre in these seven days. The festival will end on June 3.
