AAI's endeavour to promote art and culture

Airports Authority of India (AAI) is working towards enhancing passenger convenience across its airports. AAI is also dedicated towards promoting art and culture through its allied organization and entities. Promotion of arts, especially performing arts by the staging of a play is one of the new initiatives of AAI. Airports Authority of India Officer's Institute (AAIOI) in collaboration with Kala Darpan, a theatre group, staged a play entitled "Baudamnath Raja- Teen Sheikh" on May 6. The play was an adaption of Danish author Hans Christian Anderson's 'Emperor`s New Clothes' which tells how speaking the truth is not easy for everybody and how an innocent little child can bring forth the reality without any fear or prejudice.
AAIOI is also conducting a summer theatre workshop on art and drama from May 7 to June 6, in collaboration with National School of Drama (NSD) for children aged between 8-16 years. The workshop will be organised under the able guidance of Suwarn Rawat, an international performing arts` arena, television and films. The month-long workshop aims at the social integration of children for a better understanding of themselves and also to sensitize them towards their surroundings through theatre activities.
Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, AAI and the patron of AAIOI has chalked out a roadmap and vision for the overall revival of AAIOI and the institute's management committee is dedicated to promote art and culture, sports and other recreational facilities for its members and well-wishers. Various art camps, painting competitions for kids and boot camps have already been successfully organized by the institute.
Airports Authority of India Officer's Institute was established on August 14, 1999. The institute is completing a journey of around two decades this year. AAI airports are winning accolades and widespread acknowledgement not just in India but across the world, regarding improved passengers' facilities, enhanced safety and world-leading airports infrastructure.
In addition to AAI officers, AAIOI has members from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, DGCA, Delhi Police, PSUs, PMO and other Ministries. It is the endeavour of President of the institute Anuj Aggarwal, Member (HR), AAI and his team to make AAIOI a premier institute in the heart of the national Capital.
