Fadnavis lays foundation of Nagpur Metro

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday said the Metro Rail project in Nagpur will boost the industrial and overall development of the city.

Fadnavis was in the city to lay the foundation stone of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project. Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari was also present.

The Chief Minister said Railways is moving in tandem with new technological advancements, and hence, the Nagpur Metro will boost development of entire Vidarbha region.

"Nagpur is the center of Vidarbha and therefore there is huge scope for development. Metro rail service will render a new look to this city," he added.

Besides, Fadnavis said the state government is also supporting the textile industries in the region.

On the occasion, Gadkari said Nagpur Metro would be a milestone for the city and will help improve its public transport system.

Managing Director of Nagpur Metro Project Brijesh Dixit briefed about the detail plan of the project.
