Ex-MP daughter’s house robbed of jewellery, cash worth `2.5 crore

The incident took place at around 11 am when Kumkum Aggarwal, daughter of former MP — Kanwar Lal Gupta had gone to her parent’s house in New Friends Colony. When she returned after one hour she found the door open and <g data-gr-id="30">on going</g> inside she saw the lock of the almirah too was broken.

According to police, jewellery worth <g data-gr-id="26">Rs</g> 2 crore was missing from the almirah and cash of Rs 5 lakh was also found missing. She immediately informed her husband who is a businessman and has five factories in Haryana and an office in Nehru Place. 

Her <g data-gr-id="25">husband,</g> identified as Sunil Aggarwal made a call to the Police Control Room and a team immediately reached the spot. The prima facie suggests that someone known to the family is involved behind the burglary. 

The domestic help and the security guard have been detained by the police and the duo remain the prime suspect. Meanwhile, CCTV footages are being looked at to get a clue about the culprit.
A case under Sections 454 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Greater Kailash police station. Further probe is on.
