Eunuch leader shot dead in Ghaziabad

<g data-gr-id="18">An eunuch</g> leader in Ghaziabad – who had contested parliamentary, legislative and mayoral elections – was found murdered at her residence in the Kaila Bhatta area on Saturday,  police said.

Police said Daya Rani <g data-gr-id="19">Kinnar</g> was found with a bullet injury in the head by one of her assistants Shama when she went to serve her tea in her room in the morning.  Shama’s niece Geeta informed the police. 

Police said <g data-gr-id="20">Kinnar</g> was the owner of an extensive property – including a house, a car and jewellery – and robbery aspect has not been ruled out. Family sources said she retired to her bedroom around 11pm on Friday.

<g data-gr-id="21">Kinnar’s</g> body was sent for autopsy and police personnel were deployed at the residence. Her house has CCTV cameras and the police are examining its footage. Fingerprints have also been taken from inside the house, police said.
