England pacer Broad equals fastest 5-wicket haul in Tests

England paceman Stuart Broad equalled the fastest five-wicket haul in Test cricket as the hosts skittled out Australia for a mere 60 runs in their first innings on the first day of the fourth Ashes Test match here on Thursday.

Broad, a local guy, walked away with bowling figures of 8/15 but had collected his first five wickets giving away just six runs in 19 deliveries, becoming the fifth England bowler to reach 300 Test wickets, reports bbc.co.uk on Thursday.

Australia’s Ernie Toshack also took 19 balls to claim five wickets against India at Brisbane in a Test match in 1947. Broad’s 300th victim was opener Chris Rogers who was caught at slip from the third delivery of the day’.
