Eklavya Model School organises friendly football match

The students of Rama Krishna Mission Eklavya Model Residential School of Jhargram, an institution exclusively meant for SC students and set up at the insistence of Mamata Banerjee on Monday played a friendly football match with the students of Narendrapur RKM, in an attempt to give them a taste of best education.

Mamata Banerjee had requested the general secretary of RKM Swami Suhitanandaji to set up a school exclusively for SC students. It may be recalled that all the schools in Jangalmahal were taken over by the para military forces and they remained closed for years. This is RKM’s only exclusive school for SC students in West Bengal.

The RKM has decided to set up the laboratories by Narendrapur RMK school. Its teachers will go to Jhargram to coach the students. The students will attend science camps in Kolkata organised by JBNSTS.

The RKM has prepared a project for comprehensive development of the students not only of this school but those studying in other schools and residing in the vicinity of the school. A centre for their all round development will come up and RKM has requested the state government to allot land situated next to the school. A complex will be set up where an auditorium, seminar rooms will be set up.

The RKM is stressing to teach the students their culture and heritage. Swami Subhakarananda who is looking after the school said “Our effort is to provide best education to the students and develop their all round personality following Swamiji’s principle of man making character building education.”
