Eastern Railway organises cleanliness drive in Howrah, Sealdah divisions

Eastern Railway on Friday continued  its  effort in building a clean India by organizing intensive cleanliness drives in the Howrah and Sealdah divisions. For awareness of the passengers and rail users,banners, posters and leaflets with cleanliness messages have been released and displayed in all the prominent locations of railway stations as well as the offices all over Eastern Railway.

 In addition to it a short film was also produced on cleanliness awareness and released for viewing by the Rail Users on CCTVs at all major stations.

 On Friday the Eastern Railway launched another intensive cleanliness drive in its Howrah division by cleaning Golmohar Railway Colony, under the leadership of Dr R Badrinarayan, DRM, Howrah. The inhabitants of the colony were sensitized and they were also involved in the drive. Swachh Bharat pledge was administered and a walk-a-thon was also conducted.  

A massive cleanliness drive was also organised by Eastern Railway's Sealdah Division on the very same day. ‘Swachhata Shapath’ (Cleanliness Pledge) was administered at all the stations, depots and units of Sealdah Division. Pledges were administered by senior Railway officers to other officers, supervisors& staff at all major stations like Sealdah, Kolkata, Naihati, Majharhat, Barasat, Sonarpur, Barrackpore, Dumdum Jn., Balygunge and Berhampur Court followed by the cleanliness campaign.

200 sevadars (volunteers) of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation also actively participated and cleaned the Sealdah station area. 

A web page ‘Swachh Rail, Swachh Bharat Mission’ was also launched by the Sealdah division website to highlight various activities and achievements of Sealdah division.
