DU admission: Sports quota merit list to be announced today with 4,000 aspirants in it

The entire procedure to get selected under the sports quota in DU is literally tough and only a true sportsperson can make it to the seat. Like every year, this year too, sportspersons who had appeared for the tests needed to be either a national, state or a state-level player.

Out of the total of 10,600 applicants, 6,500 had qualified. However, this was not the end to their strife to seal their fates.

After the first round of qualifiers, a trial was done with all these aspirants and now, finally, the Delhi University is about to come up with a list of around 4,000 odd aspirants who have been allotted colleges according to the scores.

“After completion of trial, and fitness test more about 4000 students have been selected for the admission, the final merit list is under final stage of preparation and it will be released on Thursday,” Professor, CS Dubey, president of DU sports counsel said.

Admission process under the sports quota of 28 colleges for almost 40 courses ended on July 2. With the release of the merit list on July 8, applicants need to visit the respective colleges to ensure their admission. Similar to the general admission, the fee for the sports quota will be submitted online.

Meanwhile, the final trial scheduled which was due on July 7, for admission under ECA quota, has been postponed to July 10.
