Doon conducive to R&D, says ONGC CMD Sarraf

ONGC CMD D K Sarraf said on Thursday that Dehradun’s ‘calm & cool environment is conducive for R&D activity, and there is question of shifting its base to Delhi or any other city. To remain in this city and go for extensive exploring research is our selfish motive.

‘We started our journey from the land of Uttarakhand. Dehradun occupies a very important place in the history of ONGC and it’s natural that we are concerned for the development of this hill state.
We are exploring on various feasible projects that can change the face of the city and state for bright future. Beautification of clock tower, planting of trees etc. are some projects that we can work for under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in future.’

It is pertinent to note that last year ONGC contributed Rs 5 crores for the disaster victims in flood-ravaged state, and also provide the service of choppers, medical-kit along with doctors in carrying out relief and rescue operations in disaster-hit villages.

Sarraf believes that alternative sources of energy can be searched in the near future. But it will
not mark the end of oil products as premium source of energy.
