Young financier shot dead in Gurugram

Gurugram: The daring scenario of criminals eliminating their victims on the busy streets of Gurugram was again repeated after a young financier was shot dead late Saturday at 10 pm.
Co- incidentally, the plan was executed at a time when many residents in the city were celebrating Vijaydashmi, an occasion for celebrating the win of good over the evil.
The deceased who has been identified as Lokesh Kataria was killed after unknown assailants entered his office in Basai village and pumped bullets into his body.
Seriously injured, the victim was then immediately rushed to the hospital. The doctors, however, could not save him as too much of blood was lost.
The police have registered the complaint at Sector 9-A police station under Sections of 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and 25-54-59 of the illegal arms act.
Sources indicate that the family of the departed have alleged that Lokesh was being threatened for a long time and was being asked to pay extortion fee, a demand which he did not yield to.
As of now, the blame is being pinned on the person named Moni who is also believed to be involved in another murder case.
Officials of the district police have however not officially divulged any specific cause and have said that they are investigating the real reason behind the killing.
"As of now we have not made any arrests in the case and are investigating all various facets of the case. We hope to solve the case at the earliest," said Inspector Bijendar Kumar, Station Head Officer (SHO) of 9- A police station.
The case comes at a time when the police are still trying to catch hold of murders of RK Vij, a senior MNC professional who was stabbed to death in Sector -4 more than a month ago.
Prior to this, there have been multiple occasions where the attackers have shot dead working professionals at a time when there is heavy rush hour in the city.
