Wrestling coach held for raping kabaddi player

Two days after a national level Kabbadi player alleged that she was raped by a man posing as an official from Chattrasal Stadium, Delhi Police have arrested a national level wrestler on Tuesday for his involvement in the incident.
The accused, identified as Naresh Dahiya, is a native of Karala village, and used to train wrestlers at Chhatarsaal stadium.
He was arrested after a technical surveillance was mounted on him after which his whereabouts were traced, police sources said. The accused is currently being interrogated about the case and have remained tight-lipped about the developments in the case.
The case had come to light on July 9, when the victim had registered her complaint at Model Town Police Station, stating that she was raped by a man in his 30s posing to be a stadium official.
The girl was allegedly lured into his room and given drinks laced with sedatives and then raped by him.
"The accused had picked the girl from outside the stadium and lured her into his car on the pretext of taking her to his Rohini flat.
"He told her that he wanted to introduce her to his friends for some work," said a police source.
The victim had then told the police that she was unable to remember the details of the case as she claimed that she was given a drink laced with sedatives and became unconscious.
The accused after allegedly raping her told her to not reveal the incident and threatened her with dire consequences, police said.
"After receiving the complaint, the girl was sent for medical examination at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital, which confirmed rape," said a police officer.
Dahiya, who also trains wrestlers at his Naresh akhada in Shahbad Dairy area, is a former national-level medallist.
