Working to provide 24-hour tap water supply: Kejriwal

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday at Delhi Cantonment constituency said that the Delhi government is working to provide 24-hour tap water supply for the people of Delhi. The national convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also said that his party will gain votes in the upcoming assembly elections on the basis of Delhi's development in the last five years.

MLA of Delhi Cantonment constituency, Commando Surender Singh, was also present at the event.

The CM said, "I am happy to share with you today that a lot of areas, which had inadequate water supply, now have abundant supply of water. The installation of water pipelines in the areas which were devoid of water pipeline connections is starting in a few days, to provide adequate and 24-hour water supply to the residents. On behalf of the Delhi government, I want to thank the Army officers and soldiers for supporting us in our endeavours. Your efforts and participation have made it possible for us to work in the Army area, which otherwise has very restricted access for civilians.

"Electricity connections could not be installed in two of the slum colonies, and the residents were facing severe issues with no power. We are now installing solar power panels in those areas and soon each house in the colonies will be receiving electricity connections. You all must be aware of the provisions of the Delhi government to provide free electricity consumption up to 200 units and half rates for electricity consumption up to 400 units, but somehow army personnel could not access this free consumption scheme. Now, the army personnel will also gain access to this scheme, we have resolved this issue as well", Kejriwal further added.
