Woman dies after she jumps from 22nd floor

Greater Noida: A 25-year-old woman, a ladies salon operator, allegedly committed suicide as she jumped off the 22nd floor of a multi- storey residential society in Greater Noida West on Monday afternoon. Police said that the woman was under severe depression after her divorce a couple of months ago.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 1:30 pm at Greenarch housing society. The deceased identified as Priyanka Teotia, a resident of Noida Sector 61, was working at a ladies' salon which was being operated from one of the flats of the building.

A senior cop from Bisrakh police station said that the victim was accompanied by her employer Manju Devi, who is also the owner of the flat where the salon is being run. "The moment Manju Devi opened the main gate of her flat, Priyanka, who was standing behind her, jumped off the balcony," the officer said.

The officer further said that the security guards of the society immediately took the victim to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. .

"We have sent the body for post mortem. We are questioning the family members and the salon owner while further investigations into the case are underway. We will register a case once a complaint is given to us," the officer added.
