Woman booked for threatening mother-in-law to separate her from son

Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad police have booked a woman for allegedly blackmailing her mother-in-law by stealthily installing a spy software in her mobile phone and getting an access to her private calls and messages. The woman accused also threaten the elderly woman to get separated from her son if she don't want her personal chats and calls to go public. Police have booked four persons including the woman and her three other family members

As per reports, the elderly woman has been identified as Kamlesh Singh (53), a resident of Kavi Nagar area in Ghaziabad. The woman has alleged that her son Amit Raj, who is a joint commissioner at Income Tax department in New Delhi, got married to Deepti Jayant, a native of Kavi Nagar area in Ghaziabad in 2007.

"Deepti had hacked her mother-in-law's mobile phone and involved her three other family members, including her two brother and elder sister to purchase a spy software from an IT company named one store India private limited in April 2018. She then installed the software in victim's mobile phone and all her calls and messages got transferred to some other number. Deepti recorded all her personal calls and accessed to her whatsapp messages and photos. The woman then threatened the victim to make all these calls and messages public after some editing and lodged a fake case against her and her husband if she continue staying with her son," the complaint read.

The report further said that the woman accused also threatened her mother-in-law to defame her and her son. Also she threatened to publicize the bank related information which she accessed from her phone.

Meanwhile police have registered a named FIR against four persons in connection with the case.

"Based on the complaint, an FIR under relevant sections has been registered against the woman, her brother Mohit and Harshit, her sister Meenakshi. A probe has been launched into the case while we are verifying the facts," said Shlok Kumar, Superintendent of police (city) Ghaziabad.
