Two women kill selves in separate incidents in Noida

Noida: In two separate incidents in the district, two married woman took the extreme step to end their lives.

Noida Police on Tuesday said that one woman died after she jumped from the sixth floor of a high rise building, while another allegedly hanged herself from the ceiling fan inside her house.

The first incident occurred on Monday evening at HCL Tower residential society in Noida's Sector-62.

The woman, identified as Ekta Kapoor, lived with her family in tower A of the society and reportedly committed suicide by jumping off the sixth floor of the building, adjacent to that where she lived.

Police officials on Tuesday said that the woman was under depression due to personal reasons, which forced her to take the extreme step.

"Prima facie, it appears that the woman committed suicide under mental stress. We have handed over the body to family after getting the post-mortem done.

"We will probe the matter and register an FIR if a complaint is received. As of now, the victim's family has denied making any police complaint," said Pankaj Rai, station house officer, Sector-58 police station.

In the second incident, a 19-years-old woman hanged herself from the ceiling fan inside her house on Tuesday afternoon.

Police officials said that the body of the woman, identified as Lipi, was found hanging from the eiling fan at her residence in Nithari village of Noida.

"No complaint has been received in the matter so far. However, we are questioning a few suspects to ascertain the reason behind the death," said Manoj Pant, station house officer, Sector-20 police station
