Two women arrested for kidnapping child

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has arested two women on accusations of kidnapping a child in South East Delhi's Okhla Industrial area, police said. On Friday, the two women were thrashed by the locals of Sanjay Colony after they were accused of child lifing.

Sources say that they were beaten up after a boy saw the two women allegedly picking a 2.5 year old child from the area. As the boy alerted the residents, the two women were surrounded by a mob and thrashed. The child was rescued. The video of the beating also went viral on social media.

Later, the two women were handed over to the police. The police on the complaint of a woman registered a case and arrested the two women. They were taken for medical examination. Sources said that the two women are residents of Uttar Pradesh' Basti district. They have been identified as Rehana and Sakina.

"A PCR call was received at Sanjay camp jhuggi Okhla Industrial Area. Two women were arrested under section 363/34 IPC. They are residents of NTPC Badarpur jhuggies," said DCP South East, Chinmoy Biswal.
