Traffic Police constable murdered in Rohini

New Delhi: A Delhi traffic police constable was murdered in Shahabad Dairy area of Rohini district on Thursday afternoon. Police have formed several teams to investigate the case.

Police claimed that severe head injuries were found. Police identified the deceased as Dinesh who was posted in Parliament Street circle and lived with his family in Sector 17 Rohini. "His head was attacked with some blunt object," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta adding that they had registered a case under section 302 (murder) of IPC against an unknown person. According to the police, the incident came to light after they got a police control room call at around 1 pm and came to know about the body lying in bushes. "The deceased was wearing plain clothes and nothing was found from the pocket. Efforts were made to trace the identity of the body on Thursday," police said.

Police further claimed that meanwhile, the family members of deceased was searching for him when he did not return home for a long time on Thursday and later they came to know about the incident. Police said that they are checking the CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas to verify the accused who came to dispose of the body. The investigating agency is questioning several people in this regard to get a further clue in the murder case.
