They have lunch together to build camaraderie

New Delhi: If you enter the Jamia Nagar Police station in South East Delhi on a second Saturday, you will get to see poori and sabzi being prepared inside the police station. The buffet with matar paneer and raita are all well arranged on two tables.

For a second, you may be mistaking it as a small function organised in the premises but soon you find that it's a get-together of the police station staff for lunch. The basic idea is healthy interaction between its staff right from constables to station house officer.

Soon, the police station staff queue up for the lunch, from the SHO to the constables. They are seen talking informally to each other discussing vital happenings of the last 15 days.

The lunch get-together was started by the then SHO Sanjeev Kumar during his tenure. Sanjeev is now the SHO of Vasant Kunj South.

"We interact with our seniors and our colleagues in a very casual way during this time. This also creates a healthy atmosphere amongst the staff and better cooperation. This is also the time when apart from those on duty we meet almost all our colleagues in this get-together," said a constable.
