Teaching is a service, not a profession: Sisodia

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia attended a workshop "Millennium Development Goals 2030: Role of Education& Universities" organized by the University School of Education, IP University to mark the occasion of National Education Day on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion he said "Teaching is a service, not a profession. The service of the teacher is round the clock and completely 360 degree work. This unique attribute of the teacher differentiates him from other services."

He further said, all the goals can be achieved by achieving quality education and quality education can be achieved through active role of universities. "We have to develop entrepreneurship mindset rather than job seeker mindset for the development of the country."

Focusing on the importance of school education, he said there are so many missing links in primary education. Those missing links must be tracked down and rectified. Introduction of 'Happiness' and 'Patriotism' like things in the school education is a fillip in that direction.

Prof. K K Aggarwal, Founder Vice-Chancellor of the University said that future lies inside the boundary wall of the university.
