Spots for bursting firecrackers in Noida

Noida: Amid efforts to curb the increasing levels of air pollution in the city, the Gautam Buddh Nagar district Administration has identified certain spots in various sectors and residential complexes of the city which are chosen to burst firecrackers on Diwali.

"We have identified 117 spots in the city for community fire cracker bursting. The move is a part of numerous efforts which the administration has been making in order to control the rising air pollution levels in the city. Apart from this, we are putting several other checks and balances to ensure that the pollution levels don't worsen," said a senior administrative officer.

The officer further said that these spots include Community centres at all housing societies, vacant places and area 100 meters away from silent zone. He also added that fine will be levied on those found bursting crackers other than these spots. The pollution levels in the Delhi-NCR region rose to extreme levels with Gautam Buddh Nagar District witnessing a severe quality of air for two consecutive days. However, as the climatic conditions changed, there came a slight drop in the AQI levels.

The administration has already stopped all the private construction in the district from November 1 to 10 and is undertaking a massive water sprinkling drives at the city roads.
