Sexually assaulted by kin, minor pens her ordeal in exam paper
Gurugram: A 15-year-old confessed that she was sexually assaulted several times by her uncle and a minor. The shocking revelation then prompted the FIR to be filed which then led to arrests.

Police were alerted about the crime by school authorities after the 15-year-old victim narrated her ordeal in an answer sheet during a unit test examination on October 1. The school was asked to inform the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) officials.
According to the girl's complaint, she was allegedly assaulted by her cousin, a student of class 11 who stays in the same house as her in their village.
Assistant commissioner of police, a crime against women and children (south), Shakuntala Yadav said the girl had alleged that her uncle – who is her grandfather's sister's son and their next door neighbor – had groped and touched her inappropriately. The uncle apparently visits her house often.
We informed Child Welfare Committee officials on October 1 to counsel the victim. The victim's mother and cousin's mother are sisters and are married in the same family," Yadav said.
The girl's statement is yet to be recorded as she is traumatized, according to CWC chairperson Shakuntala Dhull. Gurugram along with its counterpart Faridabad is leading in terms of sexual crimes against minors. In 2017 there were 106 cases of sexual crimes against minors while in 2016 there were 115.
Not only sexual crimes but the law enforcement officials also have to deal with increased cases of human trafficking.
What is more shocking and disturbing is an exponential rise against the crime of minors. In just past six months, the city has witnessed more than 100 cases of sexual assault against minors.
