SDMC to protect monthly emoluments of contract staff
New Delhi: The issue of effecting decrease in the monthly emoluments of around 10,000 contract employees working in different departments for all the scheduled employments for internal time gap arrangement was raised in the meeting of Standing Committee presided over by the SDMC Chairperson Shikha Rai on Friday. The issue raised by the LOH, Kamaljeet Sehrawat was considered minutely; the members of the Standing Committee expressed their concern over the decrease in the monthly emoluments of contract staff.
It was general observation of the members of the Standing Committee that the contract staff might feel discouraged with reduction in their emoluments and they will not be able to properly concentrate on their work. The staff employed on contract basis has been working in the SDMC for the last so many years, hence, they have acquired rich experience. Considering the opinion of the members the Chairperson and the Commissioner Puneet Kumar Goel after brief discussion agreed to release earlier amount of emoluments to the contract staff by keeping the new orders based on the revised minimum wages issued by Delhi government in abeyance for the time being.
As per the decision, un-skilled staff will continue to draw Rs 13,584 monthly salary including DA instead of the revised emolument of Rs 10,270 including Dearness Allowance. The figure in respect of semi-skilled staff will be Rs 14,698 and Rs 11,362 and in respect of skilled staff Rs. 16468 and Rs 12,506 respectively.
