NEW DELHI: SDMC on Saturday organized Swachhata related activities in all nook and corners of the south corporation in connection with the launch of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign.
SDMC on Saturday focussed on the tourist destinations, monuments, and religious places in order to showcase the effect of cleanliness at places which have been attracting a maximum number of footfall of the citizens and tourist from all parts of the country and abroad.
Mayor Narendra Chawla accompanied by the Chairperson Standing Committee Shikha Rai, Commissioner Dr Puneet Kumar Goel, and other elected representatives and officers exhorted the citizens to make Swachhata as an inseparable part of their habit.
Chawla while leading a rally against the use of plastic and flagging off many mechanical sweepers, litter pickers and water sprinklers stated that our thrust on mechanization of Swachhata related works helped SDMC in improving its ranking from 204 to 32.
He expressed confidence that the kind of investment in terms of man-days will certainly take SDMC in the club of first 10 ranking in the country.
He added that entire team comprising SDMC's employees and responsible citizens are contributing their worth in giving a practical shape to Swachhata Hi Sewa.
