SDMC Mayor inaugurates free health awareness camp

New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Mayor Narender Chawla on Tuesday inaugurated a mega Health Check-Up and Awareness camp at Uttam Nagar Primary Health Centre where thousands of people got themselves examined and tested for different diseases related to imaging and tests.
The physicians, para-medical staff and technicians in adequate numbers were deployed to examine and provide consultations to the gathered citizens.
Apart from general OPD services pap smear, screening for diabetes, cataract and refraction, thalassemia test, antenatal check-up, gynaecological check-up, medical and paediatric OPD, dental check-up, immunisation and lab investigations were done without any charge.
Speaking on this occasion, Chawla stated that similar camps will be organised in different colonies, one after another, as SDMC is committed to providing uniform health services in all parts.
He directed the Health Department to chalk out a detailed schedule for this purpose.
Chawla called upon the citizens to get benefit from the camps. The camps have been proving their utility as they are spreading the message—prevention is better than cure.
