SDMC issues 213 challans worth Rs 4.8 lakh

New Delhi: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday continued its drive to hold accountable violators of the anti-pollution laws in its area. With this respect, the SDMC lodged 51 FIRs with the Delhi Police in a day against violators of the anti-pollution guidelines in all four of its zones. This action from the municipality comes as per the order of the National Green Tribunal under section 15.

Additionally, the SDMC also undertook 751 inspections and issued 213 challans worth Rs 4.8 lakh in all four zones. 83 Water Tankers and 24 Mechanical Road Sweepers covering 604 Kms have been deployed for water sprinkling and removal of dust and litter from the roads.

SDMC is also identifying regular sites where construction debris is found illegally dumped during the night. 40 Special night patrolling teams have been deployed as these sites to take the action.
